Motherboard
Gigabyte Z390 Designare
CPU
Intel Core i5-9600K
Graphics
XFX RX480 8GB
I haven't overclocked yet. I wanted to make sure everything is working perfectly before I did that. If it's not as fast as it should be, could I get some direction on what to do to speed it up? Thanks!
Here's my GeekBench report: http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench3/2207708
Here's my Cinebench: http://i.imgur.com/4aBl23Q.png

If you look for other results from the 4790K on geekbench you will see your score looks quite reasonable with no overclock.

I have basically the same system as you. The differences are the Z97X vs the Z87X, 32GB RAM vs 16GB and twin 280X vs 7970 GPU's though I am running Yosemite.

I get much the same response on Geekbench and on Cinebench. There's a couple of % difference but I'm not going to chase down that sort of delta to be honest.

The moment you start worrying about this is the time to get a life  and do something else.

The only way you are going to get significantly better performance is to either overclock the CPU or move to more cores which means X99 and the 5690X range of CPU's, all of which costs money. Since a lot of what I do is actually single core Perl work, I just need a fast clock, multi-cores for me are not worth the difference. However FCP X and lots of other programs will take advantage of multi-cores so it may be worth it for you.

Perfect. Thanks so much, guys! I had a scare when I was doing an export test from Final Cut, but I was pretty sure I knew why it was running slow. Now I'm certain.

Thanks again!

Dont you think you should have shared that instead of asking people to answer blind questions.

Though that was the main reason I was concerned, it wasn't the only one. I've also had some weird things going on with DaVinci Resolve and Compressor. Additionally, I've had some issues with power management. I just thought it would be easier to ask about the speed score than to explain all the issues I'm having.

Sorry if I offended anyone!
