NVMe certainly proves faster in benchmark testing. In real world 'feel' of use, you likely wouldnt notice it much if at all.

AHCI = natively recognised, but marginally slower.

NVMe = requires a little patching, but benchmarks faster.

Both will work in OSX.

It can be a bit faster. Here's a benchmark of my SM951 AHCI.
