HDEF is in the DSDT, so if we can edit the latest Lion AppleHDA in this fashion- it will be much better than VoodooHDA.

Thanks Tony for your support.

I've tried using bcc9 perl script for IDT patching and swapped with his layouts but so far without any success.
I attach below my linux codec dumps, verbs and codegraphs for anybody to try.

Windows7 pinconfig for IDT codec 0x111D76D1

Code:
00A71CF0 00A71D00 00A71EF0 00A71F40 00B71C1F 00B71D40 00B71E21 00B71F02 00C71C20 00C71D10 00C71EA1 00C71F02 00D71C10 00D71D00 00D71E17 00D71F90 00F71CF0 00F71E00 00F71EF0 00F71F40 01171C30 01171D01 01171EA6 01171F90

Windows7 pinconfig for HDMI codec 0x80862805

Code:
00571c10 00571d00 00571e56 00571f58 00671c20 00671d00 00671e56 00671f58 00771c30 00771d00 00771e56 00771f18

Useful tools:

Linux HDA-Analyzer (real time node testing)

Windows 7
hdau.exe (pin validation and real time graph)
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows ... e/gg462977
(remember to rollback to windows default drivers for both codecs. Will not work with HP or Intel)

I'm definitely excited to get better sound. And hopefully HDMI audio as well!

I can't help much in terms of solving, but I definitely will test. I have a partition I can completely screw up.

Windows7 pinconfig for HDMI codec 0x80862805

This is the same codec as on HD 3000 for desktop CPUs- and the same one as in the macbook air, and mac mini. It's already solved! So HDMI audio out should work with an HDMI cable plugged at boot time and a few minor DSDT edits.

So we can't have HDMI audio if its plugged in after boot?

Slightly confused. A few posts ago you said "So HDMI audio out should work with an HDMI cable plugged at boot time and a few minor DSDT edits."

So you're saying by following toledo's guide we can use it, even if it isn't plugged at boot time?

Oh, gotcha. Sounds good! I'm looking forward to seeing how else you can improve this!
