Hi. I think that i buy this mainboard.

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/produc ... x?pid=4144

Will the Sleep/Wake work without a DSDT on this Board?

And is MAC working on this Hardware?
- GA-Z77X-D3H
- i5 2500K
- Palit GTX 260
- 8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600 DDR3 RAM

Thank you
VIA Audio won't work awhile.

Ah i saw it now :/

Another question: If i buy this board here: Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H . I can use 5.1 Speakers? Or only 2.1?

Thank you. Nice support here!

You should search for the 887 kexts from Toleda.
Not sure of the 5.1 speakers (think you have to create an aggregation of audio channels for that, or use the Toslink optical out)

Also regarding HD3000 and artifacts, came across this post which sounds interesting:

Greetz,

D.

I know that the sound is working here (1st post) but thx. :p The HD3000 i dont need because i have a GTX260 =) Somebody tried 5.1? :)

I know sound works, only mentioned the toleda kexts because they seem the best for now...
see this post about capabilities: http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=50819&start=0
Looks like only SPDIF/Optical surround is working with the correct sources (meaning Plex, Boxee, VLC (which support surround sound)) The aggregate option I mentioned earlier, you get sound out of all speakers connected, but it isn't really surround (because OSX doesn't support analog surround output: no mac with multiple analog outs/ optical they almost all have that)

just my findings...

Just don't shoot me when you don't get it to work...
Maybe good to investigate some more on aggregating multiple (3 for 5.1 i suppose) analog outputs on a hack. On my board (ALC898), I have internal speakers (green), and 2 other analog outputs... So should be possible. (Got it to work with 2 but don't have a surround speaker set).

The amount of VRAM OSX tries to use is directly proportional to the RAM you have. For 4GB, it uses 256mb, for 6GB, 384mb, for 8GB, 512mb.

So just that I understand it correctly, it's best to also set video ram in the Bios according to what osx tries to use... and thus avoid allocation problems by the os?[/quote:b4mr7vxw]

I would set more just in case. I always have just set mine to the max the BIOS allows and have never had a problem.[/quote:b4mr7vxw]

Thank you both.

One more strange thing is, with GE=Yes, my HD3000 device id is 0x0126; with GE=No my HD3000 device id is 0x0112.
So what exactly is the device id of HD3000 on a i5-2500k?
Anyone noticed this? :banghead:
