There are a few 780M boards on ebay and even some AMD R9 M290X ones too. That will surely push the cost up though.
A 2.5" SSD +16gb of ram and an I7-3770 and these are really fast budget machines that make the 2014 Mini seem to perform like a tortoise. Slower than molasses in January as they say.Its not a bad proposition at all I think. I like the smaller chassis too despite being an old design.

I installed Sierra 10.12.4 using an I3-3225 with HD4000 and it worked fine. Used a $1.50 DP to HDMI adapter and there was no problem.Has anyone got onboard HD 4000 on this smaller model working? I quite like this model over the 8000 i have here.
