Dear all, I'm a kind of newbie in Hackintosh.

I've followed a lot of tutorials to install Catalina version but it fails each time and I don't know if I have to install every version 10.12, 10.13.... or if I can install a new partition on one of my SATA without deleting the actual stable version which is running on a 10.11.6.

Here is my configuration :
  • Intel Skylake i7-6700K 4.0 GHz 8Mo
  • Gigabyte GA-Z170MX-Gaming 5
  • GeForce GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0+ - 4 Go
  • Bitfenix Phenom M Micro-ATX
  • Corsair Series CS550M Gold 550W
  • Seagate Barracuda 3,5" SATA III 1 To
  • Samsung EVO 850 SSD 250 Go SATA III
  • Ballistix Sport LT 32GB Kit (16GBx2) DDR4
  • TP-Link TL-WDN4800 Adaptator PCI Express
  • Corsair Hydro Series H60 120mm
Can't here for a safe solution :)

There are no Catalina drivers for your GTX 970.

So, you mean there's no other options than change my GC ?

I mean that your graphics card is unsupported after High Sierra.
You can however use your processor's integrated graphics.

Ok thanks for the reply.
I'll check later if i can change it for a better one ;)

It's not rocket science, you have chosen the system definition of a Mac that was never intended (or does not qualify) for the OS version that you are attempting to install.

Mac-F4208DC8 is a MacPro1,1.
Try something like iMac14,2 instead.

Thanks, excuse my noob questions

As he is running a Skylake CPU, wouldn't be iMac17,1 more appropriate?
I'm installing the stuff, at the moment I have no more troubles to boot the key and launch the install....we'll see

Ok it works well, just need to find the good nvidia alternate drivers for my 970 and it will be fine
