How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

Maybe we can really cook down all your problems to the Vega 64... isn’t it natively supported by macOS High Sierra 10.13?

The -turbo 4500 flag with ssdtPRGen.sh would result in an OC of your processor. However it would only apply, if you also change the cpu clock ratio in your Bios from 43 to 45 ... in any case if you perform OC, carefully watch the CPU temperatures!!!!

Good luck, man!!!

Cheers,

KGP

Just run cinebench a few times. Then run AppleIntelInfo.kext and you will have much more p and c states.

IMessage fully works following my instructions. If you messed it up ones, as it is definitely the case in your case, follow the entire “an idiot’s guide to iMessage” by just considering my modifications and additional comments! Otherwise your iMessage won’t work anymore! 100% success!!!

OK, thanks a lot!
I will recreate, reinstall and recheck everything another 100 times for working iMessage :)
if you said it works - it will work great :), maybe not today, but it will .. :D  :headbang:

And btw after all new tests with Vega I will let you know ... about results
and if it's still the same problem or not ... :)

If you use the UEFI Clover Boot Loader, CSM should be off, independent of your graphics performance. However, this is just an advice, you are certainly free to implement what ever you want ...

I will be glad to receive your feedback on your further tests and results.

Cheers,

KGP
In the interest of not cluttering up your great guide, I've moved the discussion of my Cinebench results to another thread. It seems worse with CSM disabled, however even with it enabled the results sometimes fluctuate 78-105 fps per run (lowest with disabled was 55 fps). Think is more a graphics driver issue.

Thanks for all your help & making a really great guide !!

Vega will be the next videocard supported by iMac Pro, how is it possible there is no drivers if High Sierra is coming next 25 September and iMac Pro is coming on December.

Also what's the problem with, for example, Radeon Pro RX580 Asus Dual according to iMac 2017 uses this Radeon Pro 580 cards natively.

Another question is about how much difference exists between macOS Sierra and OS X El Capitan, As far as I know both OS are no related to X299. In case that I decide to try installing El Capitan, what is the possible right path to follow: an X99 El Capitan guide or this X299 one?.

My Maxwell 750 ti is about to being supported on macOS Sierra web drivers from macvideocards webpage and nvidia website.

Or maybe I am wrong and I should go for next High Sierra official release.

Thanks.

Concerning the Radeon issues you mention above, there are for sure other people who can explain your questions in a better way.... in any case, there was at least some Apple support for some AMD cards during the High Sierra beta-process, while the situation with Nvidia is just catastrophic.. keep on dreaming with 10.13 Web Drivers for your Maxwell 750 TI.. I really hope that your ambitious dreams become true ;) the sooner the better for all Nvidia users! For good reason I am still working with my 100$ Gigabyte Radeon RX 560 2GB startup card, which just works flawless with Whatevergreen.kext and Lilu.kext ;)

Skylake-X is very well supported under macOS High Sierra but also recently under macOS Sierra since version 10.12.6! Concerning X299, I guess I found the correct way of implementation under both macOS Sierra and macOS High Sierra. Thus, I am not able to follow your above reasoning. Also I see no motivation in supporting intents of installing an already quite outdated operative systems like El Capitan. If you are really interested in installing El Capitan on your Skylake-X/X299 system, please don't count on my support and try to find your own way.... In any case I do not understand at all, why one should follow an El Capitan X99 Desktop Guide with a Skylake-X/X299 System! There are Series-9, Series-100 and Series-200 mainboards, which only have in common the fact being mainboards... Like apples, pears and plums being all fruits...

Good luck with your endeavours in any case!

After few more tests and forum research - I found new persons who have the same system freezes like me with his RX 480 (i5-Skylake Z170) or another one with Vega Frontier so I don't think more about CPU which seems to work Perfect :D

https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...rs-for-new-amd-radeon-drivers.197273/page-293

Some posts...: "I was having trouble with my Vega FE crashing on certain software, including my main CAD one. All the wee blue activity lights would light up, computer freeze, 30 sec later crash to the login screen. It seems to be fixed by lilu and whatevergreen, then a boot arg that chokes it to 24 bit colour. No crashes for 2 days now....
...I think everyone has had to turn off anti-aliasing. You are not alone

And some software, like Chrome, needs the hardware acceleration turned off.For me anyway."

So... Still not fixed... I hope we will find solution soon :p
and now I know -it's not CPU or my mistake :p :)

Ok I would like if you explain me why RX560 is so stable and RX580 is not a good alternative for Sierra or High Sierra. In any case I only asked for a solution for my config x299 and Maxwell card, i dont mind if it is High Sierra, Sierra, Capitan or Snow Leopard (laughs).
it is not my aim to turn a subject around again and again (cause it is a big waste of time)
and making theories about a SIMPLE operative system installation. I was following this debate thing for months and it seems this x299 implementation is yet in beta testing.
No official guide for this hackintosh.

I ll try your Sierra Guide instead of High Sierra, if it doesnt fit, then i ll install Windows 10 and problem will be over. Bye.

I did not say that the RX580 is not a good alternative for Sierra or High Sierra. Up to my knowledge it's implementation actually also bases on the Whatevergreen.kext and Lilu.kext. Thus, no objections from my side with respect to the RX580! With my above comment I was actually referring to the already supposedly "natively" implemented AMD cards, which still seem to face several issues and problems.

The only solution for a full implementation of your Skylake-X/X299 and Maxwell System should be theoretically macOS Sierra until the official release of a Nvidia High Sierra Web Driver. However, by following the current user feedback, some Nvidia graphics cards do not seem to properly work on Sylake-X/X299 even under 10.12.6, despite the available web driver.

There is no official High Sierra guide, because the official release of High Sierra will be on 25 September 2017. This does not only state for Skylake-X/X299 but also for other systems. However I do not understand why, apart from this fact, you consider my macOS Sierra and macOS High Sierra Skylake-X/X299 guides being unofficial and beta?

As you anyway also propose yourself, lets stop with theoretical discussions and act together.

If you need any help with the macOS 10.12.6 installation, don't hesitate to ask. You are always welcome!

If you are willing to try your luck with the RX580 and High Sierra or Sierra, any feedback and related questions are also very appreciated!

Count on my support in this endeavour!

Cheers
