That is great to hear.
Did you find the right drivers you were missing, or did you use this one I attached to my post? Just so we know if this works for more people. It worked for me perfectly, never had an issue since i posted my solution.

Hi all
After installing Sierra on my x220, I was suffering from these freezes (no beachball, I can still move my cursor and operate lights on keyboard like caps lock, but nothing responds). Anyway I upgraded from 1x4gb RAM to 2x4gb, and that seemed to do the trick. I recently installed High Sierra, and since then the freezing has come back with a vengeance. I'm a heavy user of Word, and I get the impression the freezing has something to do with that, especially when I've got many documents open at once. Also often happens when I Alt-Tab between programmes. Any advice would be most welcome - I'm a bit of a novice on the technical side.
Thanks

I believe I now have High Sierra stable on my Series 5 motherboard. There were multiple causes of my instability and I am writing up an install guide for this MB. In short the fixes are:
  • Select MacPro5,1 as the system, as iMac14,2 results in High Sierra trying to perform power management this MB/CPU is not capable of.
  • Apply the ICH10 fix for Random freeze HDD led on as the P55 chipset has an ICH10 embedded in it.
  • Audit your programs, especially any autostart ones, for any that are not being updated for Mojave. I had one (DragThing) that resulted in an occasional Pinwheel of Death.
  • Apply the [Solved] High Sierra - need CMOS reset after sleep to fix the CMOS corruption on sleep fix.
The P55 used to be simpler to run as a Hackintosh, but with the above fixes I believe it is stable.

Hi MrPopman, I was wondering how your install guide for the GA-P55M-UD4 is coming along, I have a very similar set up as yours and am having some problems getting High Sierra to run.

Cheers for your time.
