As Apple has released macOS 10.13.1 update can anyone still on High Sierra confirm whether this issue (Of white screen after display/notebook sleep) has been fixed or not?

The problem appears to be hardware (or BIOS) specific.

Apparently this is an EDID issue. You need to inject edid with device id of an Apple display.

You may use Display Overrides or inject custom EDID using config.plist

Yep. I used the DarwinDumper.app and FixEDID.app to fix "white screen" after returning from sleep on HD530.
