I've gave up using 660ti with my FCPX.
No matter how i tried, OpenGL issue still exist in FCPX and crashed every time when i try to use effects/transition...
I've bought an Ati-6870 instead and it works perfectly with FCPX.

Is the ati-6870 more interesting than the gt640 ? How hard is it to change the kext? and does it matter which brand you take for the 6870? which one is the most quiet one? thx!

sleep and wake work just fine with my MSI R6870 (with gigabyte Z77-DS3H MB and 3770K CPU)
as to benchmark score, here are what i got~

CINEBENCH GPU OpenGL: 52 fps
Luxmark: 605
geekbench: 13567

Most important thing is: I can run FCPX effects smoothly with my R6870.

Very nice. I have the Gigabyte 6870 in my Z68X board. Will swap it out to see what scores I get.

Sorry my benchmark scores post I was referring to was on another thread:

Were you able to run Unigine Heaven?

Which MSI 6870 card do you have. I think there are a couple of them?

There is also Sapphire and XFX. Not sure though if any of those were ever tested in ML.

EDITED:

It is night and day difference with the GA-6870 versus the GT 640. My scores with this card are as follows:

Cinebench OpenGL = 52.26 fps CPU =7.91 pts
Unigine Heaven = 142.4 fps scores = 3586 800x600 fullscreen and everything else left at default settings
OpenGL Extensions Viewer 4.0 = 5600 fps average scores
Novabench Score = 1633
Oceanewave OpenCL = 654.9 fps

I'll add luxmark and geek bench tomorrow.

I fixed this by going to macpro 5.1 and my hackontosh ran faster in oceanwave 2012
