Want to give this method a go but is it ok to extract dsdt / ssdt from windows with aida64
or better to use maciasl ?
Can install mavericks with ge=no , wifi working( swapped out dell card )
but trackpad / sound would need work.

not sure if I should use macaisl while still having these issues ?

Disabling the discrete card should be one of the last things you do. After your system is stable.

If you're just getting started, work on more pressing issues. And make your post in the appropriate forum: http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks-laptop-support/

This thread is specific to the ProBook and is a development thread for the process of disabling Radeon on that laptop. Discussing a bunch of issues you have with your Dell is not appropriate here.

Rehabman your support across this forum is awesome, thank you.

My Maverick Probook installation went fine without any hiccups thanks to the official guide.

Graphics are working @ 1920x1080x32 I had to modifly chamelon's boot.plist.

However, I'm having major tearing, sputtering, and split screen where certain cases the screen offset will be off by 50%. These symptoms are most prevalent using Safari. Graphics are slightly hesitant and not fluid as well. I've tried the graphics glitch patch (I think, can't tell if Probook Installer took it by itself, do I have to recompile whole DSDT?) and I'm using the DualLink ssdt saved as ssdt-1.aml.

I have the Elitebook 8570p with a i7-3740QM cpu. After much searching there is no way to disable discrete graphics in bios.

lspci tells me I have:
VGA: [AMD/ATI] Thames [Radeon HD 7550m/7570/7650m] [1002:6841]

Is this thread my solution?
Is my current setup using ATI, raw CPU, or the built in Intel? I'm guessing neither Intel/AMD?

Thanks

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

System: manufacturer/model
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx). For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

Thanks RehabMan for your patience, Attached.

Native graphics is the 17" screen with 1920x1080 resolution. If you look at the CPU-Z Graphics tab, does that mean I don't have integrated graphics at all? Just doesn't make sense.
