on mine I use 6.3, I got troubles with 6.4, but I don't have your laptop, mine is 1065G7
it could be good to reset the nvram in the OpenCore picker

After modifying different device IDs or reset the nvram, the situation remains the same. Only 7M.

It seems that the fix for black screen on boot for 2-3 min is now available with this commit, thanks to @0xFireWolf. Just download this kext(WhateverGreen-1.4.6-RELEASE) and add -igfxblr to your boot args.Unfortunately, the black screen after sleep is still present.

thanks for the notice, it didn't solve my black screen on boot (only 10 seconds on my 1065G7)
but it seems to solve my sleep/wake , open/close lid blackscreeen, I'm still testing it on my usb stick.
i was not sure if both should be used as boot args,
I try "enable-backlight-registers-fix" and "-igfxblr"
5 sleep and wake 5 times working, nice

I don't know why it does not work for you !
As you can see from attached pic, everything is fine and I can do all setups e.g. mirroring or
extending the desktop as I wish....

There's only one suggestion I can give you and that is to use
the DEBUG releases of open core to find out where it fails.
There are tons of documents about troubleshooting on the internet, read them
and make yourself knowledgeable about it.

When my EFI fails on your machine than there's sth wrong on your side.
And having the same laptop does not necessarily mean that the hardware under the hood
is wired or hooked up the same. Do you have the same BIOS ?
Maybe DELL changed some hardware structures ? Who knows ?
An iMac from 2017 may look the same like one from 2019, but that's just the surface
you're looking at. Same goes for other companies too....
So, get out your tools and start searching.

Aztec can with his i5 1021 laptop, so comet lake seems a better choice than icelake for that
