I will attempt to change the VDI to a VGA version and report back... need to backup my files first as this is my work laptop. (yes, i use a hackintosh for work).

Or if anyone has tried to enable to VGA port could update?

I could be wrong on this but I believe that since 10.7.0 OSX has completely dropped support for an external VGA display port. I dont know of a working solution, i'm happy to be corrected and someone may know a work around but i dont know one.

I would think it would need more than just a hex change to a driver, may need some edits to the DSDT too ?

I've been using the HDMI port for an external display and that works fine.

Sorry I cant be of more help but its good to know you got you VaioBook Pro running smoothly

Cheers
Jay

pgh550,

I posted a fix on page 58. Use the HP mini keyboard layout.

wadalada

It works like a charm. Thanks

HDMI out works ?

Video wise its been working for ages, it still does not work for sound, but works perfect as a 2nd display, you can set it as a mirror or expand desktop on to it. Works great with my 28" TV that I have in my office.

Cheers

Just to let everyone know, I am currently working on getting Mountain Lion working, as it stands getting it installed is no problem, but post installation there's a few issues to work out.

When everything's sorted out, I will post a new thread in the mountain lion section.

New thread is up at http://www.tonymacx86.com/mountain-...332-guide-mac-os-10-8-sony-vaio-sa-sb-se.html

Current regressions from lion are Audio (Working on AppleHDA patch, voodoo may work for now) and Battery (waiting on more info on mountain lion for this)

Otherwise, I'm pretty pleased with how smooth everything went. There was a few problems with GPT partition tables which needed a kext patched with a delay, and I had to do some patching for power management, but otherwise its pretty smooth. Fixed kexts are in the pack.

AR9287 users are in luck as well, it works with a single letter change in the kext. Patched kext included for that as well.

Vaio VPCEB3M1E brightness control not working

I have a VPCEB3M1E running on Lion 10.7.4 and I can say I have got most of it working, apart from ethernet which is Yukon Optima 88E8059 and according to what I found on internet there is no way to get it to work, not a big deal. Also sleep and brightness control do not work, and that is killing me really. I can still live well without sleep, but I'd really love to see brightness control working on this vaio.

I am going to attach my vaio hw specs along with my current DSDT .

You can use the "Generic with EDID" DSDT patch from here: https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch

Substitute your own data and modify the other injections as necessary for your hardware.
