rehabman..you think U430 is the best laptop for hackintosh? what is the max RAm upgrade knowing that it has only 1 slot ram? can it handle 16GB ddr3L?what is your recommendation? buy 2nd hand U430 or buy newer gen laptop that same support like your U430?

The best laptop for an individual is the one that works for that individual.
The u430 works for my needs.

You can download the u430 service/maintenance guide from Lenovo and read it.

Your decision, not mine.

Hi everyone,
it seems like many of you made it to an working hackintosh.
Hackintosh works on my u430p too, but its far from final.
I've done everything like in the guide and installed and patched all repos via terminal.

But
- HDMI
- Audio
- battery status
- backlight controls with smooth transitions, save/restore across restart
- Hotkeys (except f1-f3)
dosn't work.

Can anyone tell me were i did go wrong or what i could do / try?
Thanks a lot for the help.

Use the gen_debug.sh tool mentioned in the FAQ, that way it is less likely you'll omit something.

Has anyone tried updating to 10.13.3?

Good Morning Rehabman.
Aside from updating the repositories before updating, anything other to watch out for? I searched the OP for 10.13.3 notes but didn't find any.

Thanks
