[Guide] HP ProBook/EliteBook/Zbook using Clover UEFI hotpatch (10.11)

Status
Not open for further replies.
But I don't know why this is happening? I am myself changing the config via clover options to change the config. Is it the right way at this point what should I do?

You should not change any Clover options.

Although all things are working but no USB3.0 and audio .

Your profile is still not filled out. Please fix before your next reply.

Reminder of the request in the guide:

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
("Personal Details" link from "profile menu" in upper right corner of this site)

Mobo: manufacturer/model + bootloader(Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
Mobo: HP ProBook 4540s (Clover)
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

Note: When specifying your bootloader, if using Clover legacy, please be sure to specify "Clover legacy"). Specifying "Clover" will be assumed as "Clover UEFI"

--

Specifically what is wrong with your profile (just so we are all clear and you'll stop ignoring what I write):
- "+923352366331" is does not indicate make/model/bootloader
- i5-2520M is good, but you're missing chipset information (assuming CPU model is accurate, depending on laptop model, may be 6-series, or 7-series)
- Intel HD3000 is good, but you're missing information on your internal screen resolution (I think it is 1366x768).

--

As for USB3.0, read post #1 regarding GenericUSBXHCI.kext.

--

As for audio, read post #1, "Known Problems", "Audio". If not working, read post #1, "Problem Reporting".

OK sorry for all my frustrating mistakes .
And thanks rehab man once again :) . You are the best .

I've followed your awesome guide here for an HP ProBook 450 G3 with i5-6200u, 1920x1080, intel 520 graphics and so much works great. It's wonderful. I'd like to get what's not working fixed if possible. The right side front USB port seems dead. The internal Bluetooth on the BCM94352Z that I put in place is not recognized at all (but WIFI works great). And the web camera is not recognized either. The card reader I can live without. Hopefully I have edited my signature and personal information correctly as requested. And here is the output of the various commands mentioned in the Problem Reporting section.

Code:

Your SMBIOS model name is incorrect. You made a spelling mistake.

You have "MMacBookPro11,1". Should be "MacBookPro11,1". You can see it in config.plist/SMBIOS/ProductName. And the evidence is in the ioreg.

You should not change any Clover options.

Your profile is still not filled out. Please fix before your next reply.

May be you have not forgotten my problem as I know u are to busy nowadays on forums.

My profile is complete now!

OK rehab man I am really confused why this is happening that I am booting from any other config and its showing just weird things in IOReg.
Maybe there is a clue in my Last line of Verbose mode (See attachment).
It is saying that
"IntelBackLight : IntelBackLight panel not found (PNLF patch missing ) ... aborting "
After this my PC reboots .
Should I delete IntelBackLight?

And another thing that I can't see "Boot without cache option in my Clover Boot Menu"

You can boot in safe mode to keep IntelBacklight.kext from loading.
If you can do that, then provide "Problem Reporting" files. You will not be able to mount EFI from safe mode without taking the special actions as identified in the laptop FAQ. Make sure you read it.

But something is wrong with your setup and it is not clear from the files you provided.

And another thing that I can't see "Boot without cache option in my Clover Boot Menu"

Problem with the Clover version you're using. My recommendation is to use a version of Clover with it.
But you can also just add "-f" to your kernel flags when needed (from Clover options).

Then will it be better to do a cleaner install at this stage ?

Hi, anyone have all this stuffs worked on Sierra yet?

Hi, anyone have all this stuffs worked on Sierra yet?

Results will depend on the hardware you plan to install it on.
You didn't mention what hardware you're considering for Sierra.
