There are those that claim it is working without a patch. I haven't tested it yet.

I don't recall your issue. If you're using the 5ghz patch, make sure you use one that corresponds to your locality.

With 5Ghz Patch i test anything.

locality US work
locality DE don´t work! In the system shows DE with all channels and 5Ghz Support but when connect to 5Ghz ssid it failed and the channels are fewer and the 5Ghz ssid, support is gone.
locality X3 work and has the same AirDrop Channel as DE

do you have an idea?

Is your networking hardware (router, access point, etc) using DE?

Yes it use DE

with my other ProBooks and 10.10.5 i have no Problems with DE

Titanius. You're not the only one having issues. I'm having issues with 5Ghz even on my genuine Mac. Keep having a message saying cannot be joined. I think it's a OS X issue Mavericks work fine but 10.11.5 doesn't.
 
US Channels: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 64, 100, 104, 108, 112, 116, 132, 136, 140, 144, 149, 153, 157, 161, 165

X3 Channels: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 64, 100, 104, 108, 112, 116, 120, 124, 128, 132, 136, 140, 149, 153, 157, 161

DE Channels: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 64, 100, 104, 108, 112, 116, 120, 124, 128, 132, 136, 140

US = 55 53 - AirDrop Channel 149
X3 = 58 33 - AirDrop Channel 44
DE = 44 45 - AirDrop Channel 44

I use now X3
It work for me Perfect with AirDrop Support and 5Ghz.
X3 has more Channels as DE :)

Yes this is the same Problem.

I change the locality in config.plist under KextToPatch the 10.10.2+ 5Ghz US FCC, the-darkvoid under replace from 55 53 to 58 33 and now everything ist fine.

Mine doesn't work at all not even on my genuine Mac. Then again I'm in the UK.
