It will fit, many have used these. If you want 4K at 60Hz the HDMI port on the TV must be a 2.0 revision. Then you'll need to get an active adapter like the Club3D brand on Amazon. That will adapt DP on the RX560 to HDMI 2.0 on the TV. Some have reported a straight HDMI 2.0 to HDMI on the TV works with a capable HDMI cable but using DP to HDMI is still the better choice if you definitely want that faster 60 Hz refresh rate.

This ram from crucial is probably your best bet. It's CL11 latency so, exactly what HP uses from the factory.

I trust Crucial's quality control much more than A-Tech. Crucial does give you a lifetime replacement warranty so that is a bonus.

If you want some heatsink rather than none you can spend 2 dollars more per 16GB kit. Should be slightly faster due to the better CL9 latency. Timings are the same as the G.Skill ram that I use in my HP. 9-9-9-24

BLS2KIT8G3D160ADS1S00 is a 16GB kit consisting of (2) 8GB DDR3 modules that operates at speeds up to 1600 MT/s and has a CL9 latency with extended timings of 9-9-9-24. It is Performance and is non-ECC.

I've never used the Corsair ram in one of these so I'm not 100 % certain those will work or not. Maybe someone else can chime in if they have used that.

Are you going to use HD4000 or a dedicated gfx card in your HP 8300 ? If it is HD4000 then spend the extra 2 dollars for the Ballistic Sport ram. igfx uses some of your systems ram to function. Up to 1.5 GB so faster ram is better.
I'm going to be using this card (you suggested it :) )

Here's the adapter that I've seen the most success with in the forums.

Cost is about $21 for the non retail package.

Here's a 4 dollar less expensive version but not sure if it works the same.

Can you get 4K output with this card ?
Works fine for Windows at 4K. macOS not so much. As stated, it's best to use DP 1.2 or higher and adapt it to HDMI 2.0. macOS doesn't support HDMI 2.0. You can save a little money and get the GT 1030 by MSI. The RX560 is the better value right now.

The RX560 is $110 AR on Newegg right now. It has 4GB vram and is OOB compatible with 10.13.4 +

I don't think it does 4K, but to be honest I don't need a great video card, I'm only doing audio on it. So just need video card that Mac OS recognises.

How to control the Fan Speeds of the HP 8300 via the BIOS
The fans in your HP Desktop PC are all PWM (4 pin). You can regulate their speed via a simple BIOS adjustment. Boot to your BIOS by hitting F10 and then hit the right arrow key until you reach the Power tab. Under the Thermal section, you can then press the left arrow key a few times to set the minimum fan speed. Makes the fans much quieter when more cooling is not needed.

If your fans spin too fast and make too much noise, Check this setting in the BIOS and turn down the minimum fan speed. If the speed setting is all the way to the right your fans will always run at about 3400 rpm and be too noisy. They'll never reach the slower speeds.

If you are gaming and need more cooling you can move the setting all the way to the right. The maximum RPMs are 3400 if you are using the stock HP fans. It will be lower (1800) if using 3rd party fans like the F9 PWM fans from Arctic. See the image below for all the RPM numbers at the various settings.

What's the highest CPU you can put in the HP 6300 Mini Tower for a Hackintosh build? And you can only get 16GB max ram on there hey?

It's the same as the 8300. i7-3770 and 32 GB of ram. You only get one 6Gb/s sata ports to connect an SSD to. The other three are 3Gb/s. For more details on the 6300. Download the PDF manual for the 6300 attached to post #1 (at the end)
