devmasa, I have the same model ProBook as you, and my webcam doesn't work either. I don't know if it's specific to this certain model, but if there was a kext or something to get it working, I can only hope!

The mic and camera surely doesnt work on the 4430s

Yep... camera and built-in mic works fine on my 4530s

I have a 4430s with a fully working webcam and microphone. The only exception is iMovie because its programmed to accept apple device id's only I think.

There is no sign of any USB based camera.
What is your Probook Product Number? (one under battery)

FOA or F20 <<BIOS>>

have a 4530s w/8gb RAM
have yet to swap out HD & install anything MAC
before i do, should i stay on FOA or update to F20?
i want to minimize graphics issues

what are pro/cons?

Graphics issues affect all 8GB users no matter what BIOS version.
Once you upgrade to F.20 there is no coming back and per HP site that's the only reason listed.
