Hmmm, Interesting, well, I did actually find the registry hack, and went ahead with it, which currently seems to work, and since I'm really only using Windows for things like certain android hacks (some stuff is just easier to do from Windows than from Mac, and I can get kinda lazy). If I see any negative results, I'll definitely drop the hack...
The problem I found was the Task Scheduler thing. It was a deal killer, as I use Windows Home Server, where all my computers are backed up to the server each night. On the Hackbook, that wasn't happening anymore, because the computer wasn't waking up for it at the proper time (it has to wake up and start the backup within the backup window as the server understands it). So, if it wakes up 8 hrs late or 8 hrs early it is not within the window, and it doesn't work.

I would imagine the same issue will affect all jobs meant to be scheduled in the middle of the night: Virus scans, disk defrag, etc. That said, the way you're using Windows, you probably won't have any issues.

Yup, sounds like you gotta have things on point for your tasks... But I'll probably be good... But now, the newest thing is I just tried to play a video with VLC, and received quartz acceleration not supported on this mac... Does anyone now how to get quartz extreme working???

I need som vga kects for either intel hd or ati on an hp 4180sf. ANy suggestions?

Hi,
I'm running a hackbook from this guide. The latest version of Mac OS seems to be 10.7.5, if I update and patch will it continue to boot and function?
Thanks for any help you can give.
Greg

You probably want to look at this: http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-probook-4530s/73162-patched-native-10-7-5-kexts-4x30s.html
(some patched native 10.7.5 kexts)

And probably this: http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-probook/63348-hp-probook-installer-4-1b1.html
(a better installer than the one you've been using, although it is not updated for 10.7.5 yet)

And you should probably install my battery manager: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-ACPI-Battery-Driver/downloads

And for extra credit, patch your own DSDT: https://github.com/RehabMan/HP-ProBook-4x30s-DSDT-Patch
(download a ZIP of the patches and read the wiki there)

Hi, I'm having trouble unpacking the installer. upon opening it says archive damaged in win, operation not permitted on mac. thanks for any help.

I forgot the warning about upgrading to 10.7.5 and now my 4530s wont boot, gets kernel panic. in the process of reinstalling now :(
