kikilyon said:Hi everyone,
I'd like to thanks everyone who made this possible (blueking )
I've just bought my probook 4530's but I had to swap my wifi card (Ralink) with an Atheros (ordered on the HP site by following your advice) and everything is working fine by now. I'm very happy to have such a great hackintosh at this range of price.
I've just one question :
How can I upgrade the bios under Mac OS X without having to install a windows partition. Can we upgrade straight from the bios ?
Thanks for the answer and thanks again for everything.
I'm sure that if you download the update there are instructions on the hp driversite which tell you how to make a ms-dos bootable disk from which you can install the bios update.
In my opinion it's just so much easier to do it with the windows program...
Do you have access to another laptop? you could just borrow the hard drive specifically for the bios update and switch back.

This package creates files that contain an image of the System BIOS (ROM) for the supported notebook models in the 68SRR ROM Family. This package is used to flash the System ROM on supported notebook models. This package includes several methods for updating the BIOS version, as follows: - Use the HPQFlash Utility to update the BIOS directly in a Microsoft Windows Operating System environment. - Create a bootable USB Key to update the system BIOS. - Use System Software Manager (SSM) to update the system BIOS on PCs in a network. NOTE: To determine the ROM family and ROM date, press F10 on the target notebook during startup to run the Setup Utility, and then view File/System Information.
