I'm not sure how your system will perform using one memory module. The motherboard is designed to work in dual channel architecture. Must have been a little bit of bad luck, 2 slots and one doesn't work independently. Thanks for posting BIOS settings wildwillow. Turns out my RAM module was in the wrong slot? If there is such a thing. Once I switched to slot 1 (I'm guessing) installer booted right up. Will continue to post as problems come up.
This guide is for installing in UEFI mode, but you can easily interpret the steps when installing in Legacy mode. Just miss out each step for mounting the EFI partition. That is the only difference, config.plist will appear on the /root instead of in the EFI partition of the drive.
WildWillow,
Thanks for the guide. I originally did the Yosemite for the Z77n-Wifi but definitely was not as clean as this.
Question: Have you seen any issues with using UEFI booting on the 7 series with El Capitan? Specifically one area is restart and shutdowns losing cache and having to rebuild in 0x3. (currently this is an issue with some 6 series and working on debugging myself).
Hello wildwillow,
thank you for your guide!
My System is a bit different from yours: GA-Z77N-WIFI - i5-3570K - HD4000
Do you think I can follow your guide without bigger problem?
MacRockDoc
Hi macrocdoc, Yes you shouldn't have any problems if you follow the guide. Our hardware is pretty much identical except for the processor, both have HD4000 graphics and yours has more horse power.
