[Guide] Airport - PCIe Half Mini v2

The problem is not smbios or the bootloader, likely a problem with Region and Country.
The system is macbookpro8,3 and latest Chimera.

I changed it to ETSI and now it should match to DE (Germany). But I receive the same error message during the creating of an ad hoc network in /var/log/wifi.log

Do you know where are the config files etc. located to see, if I can modify some stuff?

I tested out a BCM943225 HMB/AzureWave AW-NB290H. One thing that isn't exactly clear is that BCM943225 works oob but doesn't have a full range of PowerOptions. It shows up as having a value of 0x0. A value of 0xf would reflect a full range of PowerOptions. That means that "Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer" in Advanced Bluetooth preferences will be greyed out, therefore you can't wake your PC with a connected Bluetooth device. See the value below in the screen shot.

You will however be able to have working Bluetooth and Airport with this option and will be fine if your system never sleeps, however you'll need to wake your PC via a wired device if it is set to sleep.

I wanted to make this point a little clearer.

I have been testing it since yesterday with the AzureWave AW-NB290H (BCM943225 HMB) and the toledaARPT.kext.

Without any further tweaking Wifi and BT work BUT the wifi is slooooooooowwwwwwwwwww.

I can see that im peaking at around 100kbps when downloading.

  1. Is there anyone else experiencing/experienced such an issue?
  2. Is there anything that must be tweaked to make this work at its full potential?
  3. Should have i used any other method to enable the card than the mentioned KEXT?

FYI, im using a Z87N mobo and replaced the WiFi+BT card with the AzureWave AW-NB290H

Thanks for considering my question(s) and have a great day :D

Didnt work OOB for me... had to use toledaARPT.kext to enable WiFi... then again im a total n00b when it comes to hackintosh

Your BCM943325 does not support BT wake, however, my BCM943325 does support BT wake. It is a given not all BCM943325s behave exactly the same. At this point, we can says BT wake works (or doesn't work) with 50% of the BCM943325s tested.

To operate BT Wake, you want to add your module identifiers to BroadcomBluetoothHostControllerUSBTransport.kext
Native identifiers in your module visible in the screenshot:

TRY 2 - SUCCESS!!!

GREAT NEWS (FOR ME).

Doing EXACTLY what Mad Audi Scientist says does work, i.e.

1. Use the method described by Mad Audi Scientist.
1a. Use the toleda kext edits.
1b. Add the BTFirmwareUpdaterv1.5 from OSXLattitude.

All is very good.

BTW - the ONE change I made was to copy the files I had in my EFI partition to the folder [OSX Installed Partition]/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.9.

QUESTION: Is this a "red herring" or have I been missing something all along.

In other words, what is the point of the EFI folder in the OSX partition (as opposed to the EFI in the EFI partition). Anyone know, and could this be the answer for UEFI installs? (Also, what is the point of the EFI folder in the [OSX Installed Partition] if it (as has been the case up to now) was simply a copy of the Clover installer from the initial install, which appears not to have been changed since).

Hello, I have the same card AzureWave AW-CE123H on my Z87X-UD5 TH and that don't work.

I edit my kext, I add the BTFirmware 1.5, reboot, ok for pairing my magic mouse but after i have regulary some reset of the mouse. I put it off my desk and when i put it on the desk it is reseted. The cursor go at the up and left conner.

Your mouse work correctly ?

PS : Sorry for my bad english.

Hi, expert:

I have the notebook R830 with natively AR9285 and upgrade OSX 10.9 from 10.8.3.
I try your 4 methods but it still not work for WiFi.
The attached file is my IOReg dump.
It is so strange when use DCPIManager and it show Ven_ID 168C and 002B AR9285.
But I use IORegistryExplorer and I can't find "PEX? of RP0? or ?@1C,? with VendorID of 168c"

Before upgrade 10.9 my R830 use some modified IO80211Family.kext and WiFi is OK.
I also try to install the 10.8.3 IO80211Family.kext in 10.9.
It can find WiFi and RP03 with VendorID of 168c but all SSID with securty password connect failed.

Can anyone help me or give me any sugguestion ???
Thanks a lot !!!!

Look again. Your device is at RP03.PXSX.

Install vanilla Mavericks IO80211Family.kext as there is no reason to change this kext.

Easiest way (if you're not comfortable with DSDT patching) is to install only toledaARPT.kext.
