GM Candidate vs Public Release (15A282 vs 15A284)

Is it necessary to update to public release build again, to get future updates and builds , or can i just stay on GM candidate build for the moment and get the next official 10.11.1 update.

I was on GM candidate, updated through app-store and then when I booted into GM final I received the 10.11.1 public beta update. Shouldn't it be the other way around? Is this behavior normal? I updated to 10.11.1 public beta since I will do a clean install anyway.
