Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

64Gig Ram G-skill Trident Z Neo. (Replacing with more intel sticks friendly soon)
Hi, are they F4-3600C18D-64GTZN? I have a pair of these and would like to know if they work with Z690 Aero G with XMP support. It seems DRAM compatibility of the board can be an issue.

I have ordered exactly the same, but mine has this timings:
16-19-19-39

Memory Test Round 2:

The OLOy Blade DIMMs were dropped off at UPS yesterday, but this morning I decided to try one more experiment. This time I've ordered a pair of TridentZ Neos:
  • 3600MHz
  • CL16
  • Timings are 16-16-16-36 (what I have now are 3600MHz 18-22-22-42)
  • Samsung B Die
  • 2x16GB
  • Part number F4-3600C16D-32GTZN (link below)
According to Samsung B Die Finder:

@eos1d3, The Trident Neo works. There was a concern since the are marketed for RYZEN.
We have installed two of these (64G). They perform flawlessly.

EFI-076-PRE-Z690-AERO-G-V4
Kernel quirk options:

SSDT-PLUG-ALT-16.aml
SSDT-UIAC-Z690-AERO-G-ALL-PORTS.aml

Bios configuration as per @CaseySJ’s recommendation.
We have chosen P Cores, E Cores and HyperThread all enabled.
We have also Disabled ResizeGpu-Bar.

Audio Interfaces:
UA Apollo x8 and Octo Satellites.

Primary applications:

BMD Davinci Resolve Studio 17.4
Apple Final Cut Pro X 10.6
Apple Logic Pro X 10.7.1
Universal Audio Luna 1.2.3

After 6 days of continuous use, @CaseySJ’s Z690 system is production ready!
Our facility operates 24/7 and we have administered a royal spanking on this particular Z690 build.

Concerns:

We have witnessed two(2) random reboots while Luna was in use. App did not crash.
The monitors went black and at that point, the system rebooted. Quite strange.

Conclusion:

I must say we are pleased with the performance. We have three Z490 Vision D builds which have been
In use for over one year and they are extremely stable however, one can not deny the sheer power of this Z690.
Remarkable improvement gains are evident.

To all that have and continue to contribute to our community, thank you, absolutely great job done.

To @CaseySJ I have built the Z390 Designer, the Z490 Vision D and now the Z690 Aero G all under your expert tutelage. Your knowledge, dedication and PATIENCE is absolutely appreciated. Although it is, I do not think it is mentioned enough.

Thank you Sire.

Tony.

I don't want to jinx the system by saying this, but I was eagerly waiting for someone to give this build a real-world shake down in a professional setting.

You may be the first to boldly go where no one has gone before! :)

wait, what ? I didn't think it was possible to enable all three at the same time.

We enable them all in BIOS, but use SSDT-PLUG-ALT to restrict macOS to just the P-cores and hyper-threads. Kernel quirk ProvideCurrentCpuInfo is necessary.

I dont known if it makes sense to use 12 gen CPUs with macOS now. Performance of the i5-12600K is nearly this same as i5-11600K . Worse we pay more for 12 gen CPU/motherboard . So this same power for more money. It seems that unlocking all cores with HT is necessary to make it profitable. Maybe in the future.
