@CaseySJ I have been trying to get to the bottom of the flakiness with driving the LG Superfine 5K.
Here is the setup I'm using to test this: Gigabyte Vision D, i9-10850K, Radeon VII, OC 0.6.4 (from this guide), Patched TB3 ROM (from the guide).
Here's the scenario that works. Display port 1.4 (8K spec'd) cable from the Radeon VII to the DisplayPort in on the motherboard. TB3 cable from the motherboard to the SuperFine 5k Display. I get a blank screen until macOS comes up, but then it works. Now here is the interesting part...only with 1 of my cables:
Belkin 1m Cable: yes
CalDigit 2m Cable: no
The cable that came with the LG display: no
Apple 2m Pro Cable: no
All of these cables work with a MacBook Pro and the Superfine 5K display
Any ideas?
by the way, hot swap of a UAudio tb3 audio interface works fine.
