Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Done upgrade to 0.77 through HackinDROM application (IntelWireless EFI)

Before OC menu appears get the warning "HDA Controller reset Time Out"

Any OCS or other warnings before OpenCore picker appears? YES see above
Does macOS boot properly? YES
Does Bluetooth work? Can you enable and disable Bluetooth? YES
Does Bluetooth work if you (a) boot into Windows and then (b) boot into macOS without doing a cold start? YES

@CaseySJ any idea about the "HDA Controller reset Time Out"

Hi!
I'm thinking to change my NVMe drive (I'm using a samsung 970 pro) buying a Western Digital black SN850
I haven't found any news about compatibility with our hack. Does anyone have any news?
here (https://github.com/dortania/bugtracker/issues/192) is reported only need more test...
Thanks!
I am using WD SN850 as follows:
  • Gigabyte Z690 Aero G Hackintosh with Monterey
  • Asus Z690 ProArt Creator Hackintosh with Monterey
Very good drive. No issues. The SN850 is PCIe 4.0 so on Z490 you’ll need Rocket Lake CPU (11th Gen).

An equally good PCIe 3.0 equivalent is WD SN750.

Thanks! Helpful as usual :)

I was hoping get some help or a pointer to where to look for help :)

I got a second NVMe drive to migrate my system drive. What I did:

- CCC the current boot drive to the new drive (didn't take long);
- Tried to boot off the new drive (didn't work);
- Used HackinDROM to create a new EFI partition in the new drive (worked);
- When booting, it shows the old drive (with the drive name) and the new drive (with the EFI partition name);
- Tried to boot of the new drive (didn't work); and
- I can boot normally off the old drive.

Any suggestion on what to try next ?

Some comments:
  • It's not necessary to use HackinDROM to create a new EFI Folder. Instead, we can simply mount the EFI partition of the old and new drives, then use Finder to copy the EFI folder from the old EFI partition to the new.
  • When using CCC to make a bootable clone, it's necessary to set "Legacy Bootable Backup". For instructions, please see Step 11 of the Gigabyte Z690 Aero G build guide by clicking here.
  • If both the old and new SSDs are connected, then there are two bootable EFI partitions. At the Gigabyte Splash Screen press F12 to open the BIOS boot menu and choose one or the other.

NOTE!!!!

Nevermind, I found this thread that explains how to do it

Thanks a lot @CaseySJ !

Setting "Legacy Bootable Backup" was the key !!

I had copied the EFI folder via finder, so the EFIClone.sh scripts was just for reassurance.

I have one question though

I have two Catalina boot drives at startup now (I'm on Big Sur).

I know the one with the arrow is the REAL old Catalina drive (256gb) and the Catalina on the left is the new 512Gb drive (which I named System).

I haven't changed the bios settings, because I can't tell for sure which is which (in the bios) :)

How can i change the Catalina name in the new drive ? I tried looking for "Catalina" in config.plist (EFI folder) but that string is not there.
