Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro Wifi, cannot get installer to boot

The first error message is the key: Error allocating 0x3390 pages at ....

This indicates a problem with the memory fix UEFI driver. If you're using AptioMemoryFix-64, try adding the boot argument "slide=0". This can be done in config.plist (which applies it every time you boot) or at the Clover Boot Menu (which applies it only once) by pressing Spacebar and choosing the 4th item in the list, "Disable KASLR (slide=0)".

If the problem recurs, try replacing AptioMemoryFix-64 with OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000 and keep slide=0.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
That is exactly how I got this system to boot... finally. I am using the OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000... And, I changed the virtualization driver to the one recommended by @MESwan
Once I had those two in-place, it finally booted in.

Now, to deal with the UHD630 graphics acting poorly.

The WiFi/BT card is an Intel CNVi on a Socket 1 slot according to the Gigabyte specifications:

"1 x M.2 Socket 1 connector for an Intel® CNVi wireless module only (CNVI)"

Unfortunately, the BCM94360CS2 is a mini-PCIe card that will not fit. It will require a PCIe adapter.

Thank you for mentioning this.

Unfortunately, this is a VERY-mini-iTX build. There is no possibility of using a PCIe adapter card. I have been looking for the correct NGFF(M.2) [terminology???] adapter for the slot. But, have only been confused out of my mind with the sheer variety available.

So, according to your research, I am looking for a "mini-PCIe --> M.2" adapter?

Do you happen to know of a proper slot adapter? It doesn't matter to me if it's too tall to use the shielding. I was looking at this one that was recommended by someone in another forum. But, it didn't seem right to me.

Regards

The Socket-1 slot is actually not even pin-compatible with M.2!

You would have to use an actual M.2 slot with a mini-PCIe-to-M.2 adapter, such as perhaps this one:

If you search the Post Installation --> Network forum, you might find some DW1830 (?) cards that might work in Socket-1, but will require drivers/kexts if they are BCM94352. This is a tricky area because I haven't yet seen a definitive/conclusive report of a Broadcom card working in Socket-1.

Thank you so much for the explanation!! At least now I have a bit of clarity.

It would appear that I am well-and-truly hosed... unless I get a larger case that can accomodate a PCIe adapter.
Both M.2 slots are populated with SSDs. And, one of them is actually UNDER the motherboard.
So, that option is not available.

Ethernet will be fine for an HTPC client. And, I purchased the BT4 dongle listed in the Buyer's guide. So, for now, I'll have to settle for that. (Actually, I think it worked immediately although, I have been focused on the video problem for the last several hours.

Fortunately, the BCM94360CS2 can be used in my next build.

Cheers!

There are even Mac-compatible WiFi USB sticks. So you can obtain both BT and WiFi with USB. Where there's a will, there's a way!

I hadn't thought about USB solutions for WiFi. Thanks. I will check the Buyer's Guide and, see what works.

Just picked up a used TP-Link 4U V3 off the local 'yardsale' boards. It works very well in Mojave with the downloadable drivers. So, problem solved. indeed.

Thank you for the suggestion. I removed the WiFi/BT card because I ordered a BCM94360CS2 which I hope will fit in that slot. (?) And, I did not want any complications from the Intel WiFi to interfere with the general setup.

I have checked the BIOS settings almost every time I change anything. I am 100% positive about that part.
I get that. I'm using my old BCM card from my Macbook Pro in a PCIe adapter as well. I just kept the Intel card and I'm using it with Windows.

For most Gigabyte Z390 motherboards, please try:
  • OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000 instead of AptioMemoryFix
  • Remove EmuVariable and optionally remove RC scripts if you installed them (/etc/rc.boot.d and /etc/rc.shutdown.d)
  • Check on the boot argument “slide=0”
  • For one-key wake from sleep, try darkwake=0
OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000 is available from Bullet #3 here:
https://nickwoodhams.com/x99-hackintosh-osxaptiofixdrv-allocaterelocblock-error-update/

A handful of ACPI checkboxes might also be needed for sleep. See post-installation METHOD 1 screenshots in “SPOILER: Final Steps in Post-Installation” here:

^^ This is the basic guidelines that worked to get my Z390I PRO WIFI booting. Other issues abound with this board. But, at least you can boot in and get to work.

Thanks @CaseySJ !!

Have the same board and currently stuck at "Initialized /dev/rdisk4 as a 5 MB case-insensitive HFS Plus volume"
Also, line above this says "Forcing CS_RUNTIME for entitlementL com.apple.rootless.installgetExceptionList: failed to open /priavate/var/db/SystemPolicyConfiguration/HardeiningExceptions.plistCreating RAM Disk for /var/log

I'm using internal MB gpu (still waiting for my Vega 64)

Any ideas?
