Only 1 hard drive is recognized. When i use the enclosures USB3.0, All the drives are recognized and there is no problem.
I don't think the built-in SATA chipset supports port-multiplication (in order to recognize enclosures with multiple drives].
Myself, I've installed a mini-PCIe card based on the archaic Si3132 chip. It's slow, but reliable.
Of course, there are newer cards with better features and speed. Try macgurus to see the available options.
