[Fix] Resolve boot screen garble

View attachment 133755

I am not sure, if that is ok. Had some trouble with the upload manager. Thanks

The config.plist has issues.

ig-platform-id is not specified correctly. You have '0D220003'. Should be '0x0d220003'.

It is also a desktop ig-platform-id (you're posting in the laptop forum). What hardware do you have?

Also, there is no patch in KextsToPatch as described in post #1.

I use a Gigabyte Z97m D3h, i5 4670 and integrated HD 4600 graphics

This is the laptop forum. Please post desktop questions in the appropriate desktop forum.

Can something go wrong when editing the files?

Which 'files' are you referring to?

The config.plist :D

The config.plist has many options and a very specific syntax. So of course... If you edit it wrong (corrupting the file) or set an incorrect setting for your hardware, you'll have problems.

Just letting you all know that the 10.10.2 patch does indeed still work in 10.10.3

I'm finding the same thing. And I reviewed the effect of the patch on the code to be certain it makes sense.

I think it is likely that most people that are running into issues with this patch on 10.10.3 have the 10.10.0/10.10.1 patches enabled in addition to the one originally posted for 10.10.2 but now applicable also to 10.10.3.

I'm on a Gigabyte z97x UD7TH, I want to use integrated graphics. This fix works only for laptops???

I have 4790 (no k), so it is HD4600.

This may have some effect on all computers.
