Well I PM'ed him/her but no response back.

Edit:

Anyone have any luck using the cameracontrol app to work with Skype? I cant seem to get it to work but I can get it to work in Facetime

However I have problems hearing the other person during a call with facetime. Their voice muffles or cuts out.

I've Found a Fix For the Dark Camera issue on My Probook running Mountain lion.
It will probably work with others who have the same problem too.

It looks like the Auto Exposure is not working correctly and the cam is set to lowest Exposure (highest frame rate) by default.

I've Used Netkas's Camera control App to override the exposure a little bit, and it works great .

Down Side Is you'll need to open the Camera control app once every time you start the OS , before you open Photobooth/facetime etc...
then you can close it's window leaving it open in the dock.
it's a very small app so leaving it running through your camera session is not a big deal.

One thing to Take into consideration is the more you increase the exposure time the less frame rate you'll get and the camera will start to be very laggy , so it's a compromisation between Darkness and lagginess ...

here is the link to the App :

Can anyone repost this app? Thanks

Here's one better, the original source code plus app:

http://phoboslab.org/log/2009/07/uvc-camera-control-for-mac-os-x

I'm using the source for a project involving a driver for Playstation Move controllers on Mac, so if something useful from the code might be integrated into the ProBook installer so that we can get a decently lit camera by default, I'd be happy to help.

Problem is, I haven't found what is the best exact values for a good balance of exposure to lag yet. I'll update to the thread if I make some headway.

Hi,

The link is down, can you please upload it again?

Thanks
