First Video Edit Build

Hi

I'm considering a build in 2013 for basic video and audio editing.
I'll be working with full HD 1920x1080p/1080i AVCHD format files from a Sony HXR-NX5 and Sony a55, probably at reasonably high bit rates (24MBs). I'll be using Final Cut Pro x and Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 for edits and Pro Tools 8 LE for working with WAV audio files.

I was considering these parts:

Intel i7 2600K 3.4GHz; Western Digital 500G HD; Antec 520W PSU; Corsair 4x4GB DDR3 1333 MHz RAM; Intel DZ77GAL-70K MoBo.

I don't need a Graphics card at the moment as I won't be gaming or working with physics modelling, 3d etc. as of yet but might consider Blu-Ray, Motion 5 editing in the future. Could I add a video card at a later stage? For now I just need CPU and RAM power.

I'll be streaming video files from an ext. HD via Firewire.

I'm using my Mac Mini early 2009 with upgrade to 8GB ram but just not up to it.

Any advice anyone could offer me would be very much appreciated.

I am just wondering why you are paying more for a Sandy bridge CPU than the top line Ivy Bridge CPU for your board. Personally, I would go with the Ivy Bridge i7 3770K and save €4
