dear moderator
Am attempting my first hacktintosh
Have the following hardware
Giada i57-b7000
Processor Intel® CoreTM i5-4250U Processor, 2C/4T1.3GHz,Turbo Boost to 2.6GHz,TDP 15W
Chipset Integrated into CPUDisplayIntel® HD Graphics 5000
DisplayPort 1.2 with audio support1x HDMI Port 1.4a with audio support
Memory8GB Kingston in 1 SO-DIMM slot,
Samsung EVO 500GB SSD in a SATA Ⅲ Type HDD
AudioRealtek® High Definition Audio(5.1) Digital audio via HDMI connector1x Audio out&S/PDIF Combo jack1x Mic in jack
Intel® Gigabit Ethernet Controller (I218LM)1x Rj45 portWireless
ExpansionSlots2x Mini-PCI Express® - currently empty
Peripheralinterfaces4x USB2.0 (rear)1x USB3.0 (right)1x COM Port (left)1x Card Reader (Micro SD)1x DC-in jack (19V)
Keyboard/trackpad is attached via wireless usb input
I have also purchased the snow leopoard dvd from apple store
Have downloaded the iBoot Haswell and burnt into a CD
Used a cdrom attached to USB to start the process
Iboot boots up nicely - see the apple with eyes logo and iboot logo (and the chimera etc on the top left corner of the screen together with the available ram)
Insert the OS disc, press F5 - i See the Mac OS installation logo
then i tried the following steps
a) Press enter - the dvd reads then reboots (quickly)
b) Type in PCIRootUID=1 then press enter - reboots quickly
c) Type in PCIRootUID=1 -x then press enter - the DVD reads for a fair bit-blank screen then reboots
d) Type in GraphicsEnabled=no reads then reboots quickly
I have also reformatted the SSD into GPT and left it unallocated
In addition, i realized that iBoot has option to boot verbose - which i tried, in using option c above, I see that HFS loads quite a fair bit of stuff, incl storage, raid, pcie cards, lan cards, keyboards, sound cards, video etc then suddenly a string appears and reboots (ie boot loop)
happens too fast for me to see what is the actual string
Any advice would be appreciated!
thanks!
