File attribute question

I've noticed a couple of files on my system with a '@' or '+' at the end of the attribute part of the file listing.

Just wondering what these represent...

do you have an example of where you are seeing this attribute... Is it in the ls output in the command line? I am pretty familiar with unix and I usually ignore stuff like that but if I had an example I could research it for ya...

ls -l@ to see what extended attributes are on the file.

Use xattr to change or remove them.

This was actually when I was unpacking a dmg from an OSX installation dvd or something. I think i got it sorted in the end but never really got round to finding out what it was about.
