macOS Sonoma 14.4 breaks OCLP patch

In the beta versions of macOS 14.4, Apple has modified parts of the Wi-Fi stack and OCLP root patch has stopped working so the Fenvi and Broadcom Wi-Fi are no longer operational.

To recover these Wi-Fi, 2 changes are required:
  • OLCP 1.4.2 >> Link
  • replace IOSkywalkFamily.kext, current version is 1.0.0 and you have to change to version 1.1.0, also available on the OLCP GitHub >> payloads >> Kexts >> Wifi >> Link
How to make the change?
  • replace IOSkywalkFamily.kext, revert OCLP root patch and reboot
  • apply root patch of OCLP 1.4.2 and reboot.
The other settings do not change.

Note: Keep in mind that this may have more changes in subsequent macOS versions. But at least for now, in the final 14.4, this OCLP tweak works.
Hi, @miliuco

I followed your steps and it didn't fix the problem.

I updated to 14.4.1 today. OCLP patched it again. Reboot the system with a NVRAM reset. Still, my wifi of T919 was diabled.

Any other place that I need to look into? Thanks.

@cabuffalo
Not sure what is failing.
OCLP version you are trying?
I haven't tried 14.4.1 yet, I hope Apple hasn't made some other change that has messed this up again.

Where can I find that?

Do you have Windows? If yes:
Control Panel -> Device Manager -> Find the device in question -> Right click the device, go to 'Properties', then click the 'Details' tab -> In the drop down box, select 'Hardware IDs', this will give you the hardware/vendor IDs.

@cabuffalo
Updated to 14.4.1, wifi and BT are working fine with OCLP 1.4.2 root patch.
Requisites:
  • config.plist set
  • AMFIPass-kext 1.4.1 / IOSkywalkFamily.kext 1.1.0 / IO80211FamilyLegacy.kext 1.0.0
  • OCLP root patch.
Let me see your config.plist.

Where should I start on instructions if I have BCM94360CS2 on Sonoma 14.4.1 ?

BT of course works, but I thought I'd spend some time tackling the WiFi situation (assuming it's still doable on latest Sonoma)

I've followed all the steps but still just getting a wifi symbol with exclamation mark. I've attached config.plist. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

• macOS 14.4.1 (OC 0.9.9)
• Broadcom BCM4360 card
• System Info says driver not installed
• Z390 Designare MB

Thanks!
