El Capitan won't boot after installing

Instead of upgrading my near-perfect Yosemite hackintosh (running on Chimera), I chose to install El Capitan from scratch (big mistake in hindsight :-X).

It's probably best to not touch a working disc and install either onto an old HDD disk or onto a new HDD or SDD disk. Then once you know everything works you can then install the new drive in a caddy and copy over your old data, or install the new disk and install the old disk in a cady and copy over the old data.
