Went out on a limb and just ordered the samsung 950 Pro 512GB.

Stork also posted another way to use NVMe here developed by Rehabman. It will be an interesting weekend.

Installed it this morning. Will need to do some more work. Boots fine. Seems faster. Issues: The Rehabman version didn't work - didn't recognize the disk. The MacVidCards.com version works but the drive shows up as an external drive. Finally, Blackmagic goes catatonic, barely moving the needles and the Read column shows negative numbers? Aja seemed to work OK.
