Hello,

Specs: i7-6700, GA-H270-HD3 (hdmi 1.4, vga, dvi outputs), HDMI 1.4 cable, DELL u2518d, os 10.11.6.
I have a trouble. I bought a new monitor 2560x1440 (dp 1.2, hdmi 2.0) and connected by HDMI, and now it works only 1080 resolution by upscale. So, is it possible change to 1440? Or i need buy new mb with dp? :'(

@ikyquocked, please update your profile (personal details) with your Motherboard, CPU and iGPU or Graphics Card.
If you have a prebuilt computer enter make and model instead of motherboard (Mobo).
The Rules said:
Profiles need to contain at least your primary system to assist others with helping you.

Also i did tried a SwithResX (disabled SIP), and it's doesn't works for me. Resolutions higher than 1080 is scaled. Dont know where is issue...

from what i have read is that mac currently does not support hdmi 2.0, so you may have issues, the preferred connectors are DP and DVD-D, i would by a dGPU.
one of the reasons why i try get a motherboard with DP.
So, Windows at this PC works well at 1440 by hdmi, it means that no hardware problem
