Let me know which one you use more. Your MacBook Pro Retina/Air, or iMac or Mac Pro or your hackintosh?

Do you prefer your hackintosh (100% working obviously) over a real mac?

Yes. Although I would prefer the new iMacs over my Hackintosh, since I'm not playing games anymore (my hackintosh was for gaming)...
And I have a 4K Monitor, for which I activated HiDPI (retina). So the new iMacs with Retina displays would be perfect for me...

I have a 2560x1440 monitor - which HiDPI resolution are you using? I wasn't able to get too high of a retina resolution

Please tell me how you override it

This is my list of resolutions...

You can't "override" the native resolution of your monitor. If it's max 2560*1440, you'll only get 1280*720(HiDPI)...

And here is my display:
1920 x 1080 http://i.imgur.com/OxQ453f.jpg
1920 x 1080 (HiDPI) http://i.imgur.com/KEFTyB1.jpg
3840 x 2160 http://i.imgur.com/SRUsQQY.jpg

Edit:
By the way 2560*1440 is hardly a 4K...

I know It's not a 4K monitor (see initial post above).

so max 2560*1440 = 1280*720(HiDPI)..why? I thought you said you could override? How come the MacBook Pros 13 and 15" screen can get higher retina displays?

You can still override it, but I don't think your display will show anything. Right me down the result of the following:
Code:
ioreg -l | grep IODisplayEDID
