Hi There,

I am having trouble trying to install Yosemite on a Dell XPS13 L322X Ultrabook.
I have tried both the Unibeast and the Clover guide. I keep getting stuck
when booting to installation on the message : "Still Waiting for root Device"

Currenty using the stock 256GB SSD installed. I also have a 1TB Samsung 840SSD
that I tried. Also used 3 different types of USB sticks to create the clover and Unibeast
installers.

I have tried all the boot flags that I could find.

Is there anyone that can help me get into the installation?

Thanks in advance!

There will be multiple reason for this issue "Still waiting for root device".
Try to boot Bootable USB with Different USB Ports. (Do not try with USB 3.0 Ports)
Try bootflag "USBBusFix=Yes"
Try to Enable/Disable Legacy USB in BIOS if this option present in BIOS

Thanks for the reply!
Currenty using these flags :
IGPEnabler=N GraphicsEnabler=N -x -v -f UseKernelCache=N dart=0 USBBusFix=Yes
The laptop has two USB ports which are both USB3.0
I have no options in the BIOS for Legacy USB. I can however set the boot to
legacy.
These flags and settings still result in the "Still waiting for root device" message.

As you have only USB3.0 Ports, you can download and add the below linked kext to your UnibeastUSB/CLOVERUSB. Then boot without any of the above mentioned flags.

Sounds like you forgot GenericUSBXHCI.kext.

Do you have UEFI boot capability?

If you have UEFI: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...oting-os-x-installer-laptops-clover-uefi.html

If not: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...-booting-os-x-installer-laptops-unibeast.html

I tried Clover before Unibeast but both gave me the same error, as the error is now gone I think
I will try fixing a clover USB again and try installing with that.
In the end I hope I end up with a tripple boot system OSX / win81 / Linux
With my 1TB SSD

Thanks!

Needed the other boorflags also, and am into the setup now using Unibeast. Am going for the
clover USB tonight.

Thanks for all the help! will reply if everyting is up and running!:headbang::headbang::headbang:

Don't forget to fill out your profile properly. You will not be able to get HD4000 working without the proper ig-platform-id... which depends on screen resolution.

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

System: manufacturer/model + bootloader(Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s (Clover)
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.
