Hi Guys,

Great to hear you managed to get OS X working with QE/CI on this laptop.

I'm a bit confused as to the entire process of installing Lion on this laptop.

If anyone could point me in the right direction that'd be great .

I've gotten my XPS 1645 to work almost flawlessly in Lion. Graphics are great, ethernet / battery / sound working fine.

However I can't get wireless to work. I've tried the bcm43xx enabler, no effect.
Also, my touchpad is not working very well (no multitouch). I can't open the trackpad settings in system settings ("Could not load Trackpad preference pane."), even though I copied the prefpane file from someone else's 1645 hackintosh and put it in s/l/pref pans.

Any Hints?

i'been waiting for someone to get lvds to work. ow that finally is solved, i cant get lion to work. does anyone has a gideo get lion running on a del xps 1647??
method? bootloader?
i;ve tried multibeast,+ xmove, unibeast, but nothing seems to work. cant get the install partition or the usb stick to boot. it reboots (or hangs if -v)

some updates here!!
i got 10.7 lion 64 bits running. used chameleon latest from trunk.
got audio working (no mic), trackpad, keyboard.
graphics still the same as SL. vanilla kext (ati4600controller.kext) lvds is corrupted and vga working ok. Aticonfig doesn't change much. if i use Gliff i get kernel panic. tried hydras and matt next, but i can't boot with them. never got aty_init loaded either.
the webcam is not working but it shows up in system info:

Can you please point me to the Kext used to get Ethernet working? I've tried two different kexts on Lion 10.7 and neither are working. I've also tried setting the ethernet adapter to promisc mode, as required by one of the kexts. However, the ethernet refuses to function.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

the kext used to enable ethernet is in the files attached. BCM5722D.kext
iworks ok when plugged, but if its unplugged it shows up ass connected. it doesn interfere anyway.

Ok, I put the BCM5722D.kext inside of the IONetworking kext, as I found directions elsewhere. Is this correct, or is it a standalone kext that goes in /S/L/E or in /Extra?

finally i managed to get ATY_init from matty919 loaded. edited ATI4600Controller from 10.7.4 and modded shrike personality.

LVDS corrupted but shows in ioreg and system preferences ok
DVI not checked

i tried dsdt duallink, display override and still without lvds in usable condition

i dont know why. there are a lot of examples of laptops almost as mine working.
