yes you will get more positive results using usb connection. wifi is getting more negative as time goes on.

Tested on my Sonoma build with this same hardware (Asus B550I).

Messages / FaceTime on this build connect as expected when using USB-connected iPhone as hotspot. Messages immediatelly downloaded the pre-existing content for the conversation with my wife's iMessage account. Sending and receiving message is instant. FaceTime makes audio / video call (only iPhone as camera on my end does not start, as I wrote previously).
