I built this rig to run Final Cut Pro X. I just got the basic system working and thought I'd take a break and post the results. I'll update later once I test out FCPX.

This all works perfectly, but note. The Gigabyte board onboard graphics DOES NOT like using a DVI to VGA adapter. This caused me all kinds of problems mid-install, and you can't even get to the BIOS, although strangely you can install Linux Mint in this state. If you build with this rig, do yourself a favor, and go DVI all the way to a DVI monitor.

So what's your opinion after testing Final Cut Pro?

I noticed that the 660 is not listed as a compatible graphics card on the Final Cut Pro system requirements section, only the 680 is listed as an aftermarket compatible card.

The rig works great with FCPX and Compressor. It's a dream compared to my 2008 vintage Macbook Pro. Note, I'm using the 660-Ti, no the 660. They're different. The Ti is basically a cut-down 670. Different silicon than the 660.

Hi cru302, I'm planning to buy GTX 660 Ti for my old hackintosh that has 9600 GT. May I know if GTX 660 Ti is completely compatible to 10.9.1? Meaning all Cuda cores, Power Management, etc. are working properly?

Thanks in advance!
