Continuity and Handoff Capable Apple Mini Cards + PCIe and mini-PCIe Adapters

I bought the card from eBay, Seller "ovolink" and your DPCI Output should look like this:

Take a look here, seems to be your issue:

Thanks for the suggestion. I wish it were that simple but I tried it in the PCIe x 1 slot as well as all the others with no luck (x16 and x8, I think).

So this evening I tried the card in this other mobo right after a fresh Yosemite Install: Gigabyte H77N-WIFI. I removed the Intel WIFI card that is attached to the motherboard so I wouldn't confuse things.

To my shock and amazement - it worked right away!

I have full bluetooth, wifi, airdrop, phone calling, and continuity support. I'm glad the card is fine (cuz who knows what kind of support I might get from the Chinese retailer) but I'm annoyed that it's not working OOTB on my main rig. Not sure what I'll try on the z68mx-ud2h-b3 - maybe a fresh Yosemite install to see if that does the trick.

Also, the solid green light on the card must be normal as it's lit now and everything is working 100%.

So I guess I can confirm that this one from Amazon is working after all. Anybody out there with a similar mother board who is having issues?

Wow! Worked out of the box! Nothing to configure! Both Wi-Fi and BT are rock solid. Obviously connected to PCIE x1 port. I have posted the links of the cards I purchased for those interested (Amazon Canada):

I agree with the comments that those parts should be included in the general CustoMac parts list in the buyer's guide. Perhaps they have already been in which case, please disregard my statement.

Hope that helps.

P.S. It's really funny & rewarding at the same time to see the mouse cursor move in BIOS by using the Magic Trackpad :)

What about Airdrop? Does it work?

What about Airdrop? Does it work?

For sure it shows up in Finder, however I didn't think to exchange any files. I'll do that as soon as I get home and post the outcome (typing from my iPad on the go :))

UPDATE: It definitely works. Moreover, I tested it with both the Ethernet connected as well as disconnected. Works like a dream. But now, I realized that my other 3 CustoMacs don't work with AirDrop (I have installed the Apple & BT card only in one of my GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 CustoMac). Thank you for helping me realize that those 3 don't work. Now I'm going to lose some sleep over it :) I guess new cards are in order :)

I Bought This card:
BCM94360CD 802.11AC Wifi Wireless Network Card with Bluetooth 4.0 w/ 4 Antennas
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RCKZ3SU

My setup: GA-Z77X-UDH5 rev.1.1Core i7-3770K 10.10 Uni/Multibeast 16GB RAM
My Post Installation Settings:

(System Definition Changed to iMac 13,1)

I Used this also:GA-Z77X-UD5H tips for Yosemite vs USB 3.0Boot Log Video:

When i turned it on with this card installed, it said Wi-fi / Bluetooth was active, but it would not connect to the wireless network or Bluetooth devices.

So, I used the "Continuity Activation Tool" at https://github.com/dokterdok/Continuity-Activation-Tool and followed all the rest of the instructions with it.

system info:
BTWI.jpg IMG_6185.jpg
(Card: 2/3 Wifi antenna's plugged, broke one while assembling, Bluetooth plugged, USB Connected in MB)

Wi-Fi now seems to work fine. But, I connect with Phone's & iPad's, they pair, but they are disconnected within seconds and it says "connection unsuccessful" on my phone. Both my iPhone and iPad this is happening to. My Bluetooth Keyboard stays connected.

System requirements for Continuity - http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT6555

Does anyone have any advice?

(I've since changed my System Definition to iMac 13,1, Still Same things happening.)

UPDATE: After updating a few BIOS options from here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/bios-uefi...gigabytes-7-series-lga-1155-motherboards.html (My Processor also allowed me to Enable VT-D Virtualization, and I got my Linux Ubuntu Server Running with VMare Fusion)

1. Handoff Started working, From iPad to Computer and not the other way around. So, that is great.
2. my iPhone 4S call Continuity STOPPED working (using Facetime to receive and resume calls). This stopped working after i updated my phone from 8.1 to 8.2/8.3 and the option disappeared from the phone's Settings>General section.
3. Bluetooth still disconnects from iPhone / iPad (Soon After Pair/Connection)

I bought the BCM94360CD and everything was recognized OTB.

Handoff works very stable, but I have issues with AirDrop.

AirDrop only runs, if Wifi is enabled. I already enabled AirDop on all Interfaces, but without Wifi, sometimes I can see my Mac from my iPhone. But I can't send anything, it just times out.

If Wifi and LAN is connected, it works.

Any idea what I can do to get it working with only my LAN adapter?

Wifi:
Vendor: 14E4
Device: 43A0
Sub Ven: 106B
Sub Dev : 0111

Thanks

It is my understanding that between iOS and Yosemite you need WiFi enabled on the Mac. I was able to find my other CustoMacs in AirDrop by choosing "Can't find what you're looking for?" from the lower right corner in the AirDrop screen in Finder. Not sure if that is what you are looking for, though. And just to clarify, you don't need LAN connected, only WiFi ,but it does work if both are enabled.

Hello,

I picked up a 4331cd from over seas and used it in one of those pcie adapters also from there.

I thought for sure it would be ootb but its not working.

Anyone on here get one of those with the airgain supposed bluetooth antenna? I tried using it instead of the built in after realizing the failure but that did not work either. There were no instructions included nor could I find them online.

Went to apple forums and saw they had quite a lot of problems with theirs as well. Tried all the fixes but that did not work either. (Many of them had tried the fixes and could not get handoff either)

bluetooth shows handoff and btle all say yes. But the system logs search "handoff" shows only enabled which seems to have changed from showing also stopping scanning and advertising since switching to bluetooth antenna and getting in the pcie x1 from the x16
board is z77 ds3h

BCM94360CD in my PCI x1 slot on my Z77 board. (Uni/Multi 10.10). Ran the "Continuity Activation Tool". I Just changed my System Definition to "iMac13,1", as was recommended for this to work w/ my mobo. And nothing seems to be different. (See My Earlier Just Updated Post #229 for all my Specs)

iPhone and iPad Pair Successfully (5 digit # comes on the mac, and I accept the 5 dig # on the device, without having to type the number in), it then connects, then disconnects (within 1 second).

I have given every detail I could think of, Can anyone help, or recommend anything else i could try? Like a diff Syst Def than
iMac13,1? Thanks!

UPDATE: After updating a few BIOS options from here:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/bios-uefi...gigabytes-7-series-lga-1155-motherboards.html

1. Handoff Started working, From iPad to Computer and not the other way around. So, that is A+.

Looks like the pcie card that Id used with the 4331cd, except got those from china. Maybe that was the problem since nobody seems to know. except I only payed 21 for mine and 4331cd was from there too. This one connects to bluetooth though, all works except handoff absolutely wont register. This is also the z77, I have not looked at what the latest bios is.

Funny that the card that was supposedly built for the imac 13,1-2 wouldnt work. Actually maybe mine was for an earlier model, but yours was. the 4352 in the laptop works perfect, would have got that had I known.

I see that there has been two new bios updates since the one it is running, would it help maybe? (Description claims improving the compatibility of the pcie x16 slot)Would I need to redo the dsdt if it does get updated?

edit: But running the same card in the real mac pro and that has never worked w/handoff either.
