I can change resolution and it works.. but my problem is that i still can't use DVD player or Front Row those don't work DVD player gives me "a valid video device could not be found" my graphics card is a PowerColor Radeon HD5550 with 512 mb DDR3 http://powercolor.com/Global/products_features.asp?id=238 and my screen is connected to the DVI.. I have attached my Ioreg(terminal) ioreg dump and my lspci dump.. can someone help me getting dvd player and front row to work.. Don't think that QE/CI is working? Could i try to use a different ATIFrame buffer and get it to work that way.. i also attach my Bios for the graphicscard

Re: Adding ATI card IDs to ATI.c - update (8-Sept)

my SPPhire HD6850 card is read as 6XXX in system profiler.

I can only boot into Lion 10.7.1 with GE=No option. If i choose GE=Yes then system boots into a black screen and i have to restart the system.

Since i am new to all this i don't know what happened but when i tried to install LSPCI package from this post on my system(lion 10.7.1) my system hanged.
Now i cannot boot into it either by using flags GE=No -x or -v.
I have to start from scratch i guess... :banghead:

I used latest multi beast to install user dsdt. (z68xp-ud3r F4 Bios) everything used to work fine... can anyone tell what i should do to use HD6850 with right frame buffer on my hackintosh?
Before this my system was completely stable.... pls help me

Thanks.

have you tried all the different buffers for the 6000 series cards by specifying "AtiConfig=xxxx" at the chimera boot screen?

Don't forget to add "npci=0x2000" to it!

Re: Adding ATI card IDs to ATI.c - update (8-Sept)

The ATI card request for addition to Chimera 1.5 is now closed.

Future requests will be in a different thread.
