Catalina 10.15.2 + Sapphire 5700 Xt Still With A Blank Screen

I notices one thing that concerns me. When I do OpenCL test on Mac GeekBench score is 55000 for 5700XT but when I run the same test from Windows the benchmark is 71000. Quite a difference!
CPU benchmark is approximately the same though.

Is it MacOS drivers problem or boot/whatevergreen settings problem?

Thanks for the suggestions! I've tried several of the SMBIOS settings including iMac19,1 iMacPro1,1 Macmini6,1 and MacPro6,1. I have a DP cable and an HDMI cable that I've tried but with the same results. I think the iMacPro and/or the MacPro options are the closest thing to success for me, but I still get the same result: a clean boot and then when the displays go to initialize they are blank and the monitor goes into power save mode.

@ioutkine would you mind sharing your EFI folder? I'd give that a try and see if I have any luck. Thanks!

Here is my EFI folder. As suggested I did not install hacking kexts in /Library/Extensions but rather keep them in EFI/Clover/kexts.You perhaps need to modify config.plist though because mine contains specific memory slot configuration. Also I have not fine tuned USB ports yet.
My Asus 5700XT appears to be troublesome card itself. Thus it does not tolerate another graphic card - after a while it just stops switching to text mode on reboot.

Thanks for uploading, @ioutkine. I also moved my kexts to the EFI/Clover/kexts folder with my upgrade to Catalina. I compared our two kext folders and the ACPI patch folders and cleaned up mine a little bit, but they were pretty similar. I tried your config.plist file (after removing the memory configs) but still no luck. I think I'm going to try removing or disabling some of my kexts and see if those are causing issues.

I'm starting to think its just a combination of my motherboard + cpu, and that I need to wait for further updates to WEG. I don't think I've seen a working 5700 Xt with a 8600k Coffee Lake CPU.

Did you ever find a solution? I am in the same boat.

Nope, not yet. I have a couple more things to try once I get some time later this week (hopefully).
  1. Try the updated versions of WhateverGreen and Lilu (and probably AppleALC while I'm at it)
  2. Move my WhateverGreen and Lilu kexts to the /L/E folder instead of down the /EFI/Clover path

@Keedo

Ever get it working? Try the 'agdpmod=pikera' fix?

No, I don’t have it working, and yes I’ve tried that option. I’ve also tried the latest few versions of WEG, Lilu, and even Clover. I even got OpenCore 0.5.6 to work with the iGPU but never the 5700 XT. I haven’t been able to find a working setup with the 5700 XT and the GA Z370N WiFi.

I ended up buying an RX 590 and got that to work pretty easily. I was even able to enable the iGPU at the same time. I’m taking a bit of a break and running with this setup for a bit before I dive back in again.

I have picture on screen myself but anything above 15.2 causes crashes. I would try fresh install. That helped me once with your type of issue.

I've tried so many things and I'm still coming up empty. I'm hoping someone here can help. Please & thank you!

I'm running Catalina 10.15.2 (clean USB install but did not format drive) and everything boots up fine with the 5700 card installed except there's no display. I know this is somewhat common and I think I've tried all of the workarounds and various boot flags (radpg=15, shikigva=16, -wegoff). I can login to the computer and run commands so I know its not crashing or hanging. What else should I try?

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z370N Wifi
CPU: i5-8600k
Video card: Sapphire Radeon 5700 Xt

I can boot with the iGPU enabled and the 5700 physically removed. When I disable the iGPU, reinstall the 5700, the 5700 still has a blank display. I'm running WhateverGreen version 1.3.6 and Lilu version 1.4.1 booting with Clover version r5103. I can also dual boot into my older nVidia system running High Sierra by just swapping dGPU cards. Here is what I think are the relevant boot error messages:

I attached my EFI folder, a screenshot of the extra kexts I put in /L/E, and the full dmesg output.

Have you tried "agdpmod=pikera" as the boot flag and also it is good that you add SSDT-EC.aml to your ACPI folder under clover for it to work fine. I have the same GPU as yours!
