This really helpful, after reading & testing for 4 days with toleda's method with no success, voodoohda 2.9 just works with my gtx1080 hdmi audio, no need for other kexts, my board is ga-z170x-ud3 with bios f23b.

Download and unzip the VoodooHDA 2.9.0 to your Desktop.
Run the kextbeast install. That's it.
The kextbeast install will install any kext in your Desktop to your system.

USED KEXT UTILITY TO INSTALL VoodooHDA 2.9.0.Kext
now HDMI audio ok
