Hi guys, i'm looking for some help for my Hackintosh with Lion 10.7.3
I've made it six months ago, and everything is running smooth, except an error coming every two or three weeks, making it unbootable...
(Before this error occurs, and when i start my computer and see the boot is becoming more longer, i can clean the caches with kexts utility, but this error always occurs soon or later, even after the caches cleaned.)
A verbose boot show me this...
BootCacheControl : Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist : 2 No such file or directory
It's always the same error.
After this error occurs, i've tried many bootflags, graphic enabler YES or No, etc… Nothing allows me to boot in these situations...
Hopefully, i've got a Time Machine back-up, and i've always been able to restore my computer.
In this case, i have to install again Multibeast, Chimera, Champlist settings, and caches to clean with kexts utility.
--------------------------------------------------
My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-H67N-USB3-B3 (2 SATA2 and 2 SATA3)
http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3783#ov
i use 8Go (2x 4Go) Ram Corsair Vengeance Low Profile DDR3 1600 MHz CL9
My graphic Card is a MSI R6870 Twin Frozr II 1Go, running both windows Seven 64 and OSX Lion with HDMI
http://eu.msi.com/product/vga/R6870-Twin-Frozr-II.html#/?div=Driver&os=Win7 64
i run Windows Seven 64 on a Crucial M4 256Go connected on the first SATA3 port,
and OSX Lion on a Samsung Spinpoint MP4 (HM640JJ), connected on the first SATA2 port (my DVD is on the second SATA2 port).
I've chosen this disk, because it is a 512-byte sector.
(i had previously some problems with an other disk using Advanced Format 4kb sector size, unsupported by Chimera, and creating a BootMGR errors on my Seven volume).

My BIOS is the last Gigabyte version (F9), and i think everything is fine with his setups (using AHCI, etc…)
I can make screenshots if someone want to check it...
(But i want to mention the clock has never been correctly setted, showing two hours late. Seven and Lion have the correct time. i don't know if it's matter...)
--------------------------------------------------
I've installed Lion with these options :
Multibeast Lion 4.6.1 and Chimera 1.11.1
Chimera has been installed after MultiBeast.
And Champlist with these option :
After all my differents installations, i've ran Kext Utility, and OSX Disk Utilities to repair permissions on my Lion volume.
--------------------------------------------------
Now i don't know what to do about this recurrent BootCacheControl error…
I've seen on tonymacx86 forums some people saying this BootCacheControl error, would come from the Graphic Enabler checked…
But mine is unchecked...
Does this mean this error is linked to a graphical problem? With my Graphic Card?
I must mention that my videocar is linked to my screen (A Samsung TV screen full HD) by HDMI connection.
Do you think a Lion to Moutain Lion installation could help?
I don't know exactly what i could mention to be helped…
In my previous installations, the friend who helped me to install my hackintosh adviced me to set iMac 5,2 in Champlist SMBios settings, but i must say, i've noticed after my computer was still named Mac Pro de *** when i use the terminal...
In the current install i've just made (i'm just exiting from a Time Machine restauration now), i setted a Mac Pro 3,1 in Champlist SMBios.
I must also mention my cpu is undervolted by a bios setting, making it from 1,2 volts to 1,05 volts, that help it to be cooler, i don't know if it could be the reason for these boots problems…
Does someone need to see my bios settings?
I'm lost, and need help…
Thank you.
