Hello guys, I have recently successfully installed el capitan on my main machine. I have a feeling that fonts aren't rendering properly on my hackintosh. I have attached some screenshots. Edges seem off to me. The edges are much cleaner on a macbook.

I have tried turning on and off the font smoothing when availible, but this only bolded the font rather than make it easier to read or cleaner. I have attached a few reference photos, sou you can determine for yourself. I am running a dual dell u2715h monitors.

In addition I've also tried running the following command into terminal(without any noticeable difference):
Code:
$ defaults -currentHost write -globalDomain AppleFontSmoothing -int 2

I am a graphic designer so i might be nit picking, but it is really not that easy to read.

Any input greatly appreciated. ;)

Thanks in advance,
Zan.

I have the same issue.

I have installed el capitan just now and was having the same issue. I am having a Dell s2240l monitor. and a gt740/750 gpu.
I tried installng the web drivers for my elcapitan, but no luck.
i have changed the display from HDMI port to DVI port, still no luck.

It is like no antialiasing and you can see the difference even when streaming youtube videos.

The edges are much cleaner on a macbook.
Well, they are on retina display macbooks... The blurriness is a side effect of keeping the fonts looking like they should (i.e. when printed) rather than aligning the strokes to the pixels of your display a la Windows.

You might be right.. I have also found this discussion: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6964244?start=0&tstart=0

Although The monitors I bought are supposed to be pretty good, weren't cheap either, anyone else has any experience with this?

Your screenshots look normal. Maybe your monitors have BGR (reversed) subpixel ordering?

I was playing with this for a little while and the best option for me is having this set to:
Code:
$ defaults -currentHost write -globalDomain AppleFontSmoothing -int 2
And having the LCD smoothing set to this: http://i.imgur.com/6esB1Fu.png

The icons now look crisp and fonts is easy to read and clean. So guys tweak the dials to find the best one that suits you best. Good luck! :)

For the reference:
Thanks for the help!

I found a solution for my issue..

I switched from HDMI to VGA and then the anti alias issue was solved.. But It cannot be recommended for professional purposes.

Then I found a permanent fix accidentally, I was using A Dell Monitor. and there is a monitor option to set image enhance. Turn it off. It was in monitor settings>color options > image enhance >On/Off.

If this helps.. Please up vote and or inform others who all are searching for this. when I googled, I got a lot of posts without answers to this issue,

Regards

and by the way no mac settings where changed..
