Hi,

I'm having some issues lately with my trackpad. After waking from sleep (clicking on the trackpad will wake the mac), the trackpad won't connect. When I finished my build, it would usually connect within 30 seconds or so. But now, it's taking much longer, or not connecting at all. Sometimes unplugging the bluetooth usb nub and reconnecting it works, but not so often lately. So I have to plug in an external mouse to move the cursor at all.

I have an iogear bluetooth 4.0 device as recommended by the forum.

Thanks a lot for the help! This is so frustrating...

I'm having the same problem with my setup. Did you find anything helpful?

I just built a Mavericks system with all the recommended hardware and have the same issue on IOGEAR bluetooth with apple wireless keyboard. I found that if I don't have a wired mouse connected it wakes and connects fine. Not sure what to look at to troubleshoot.

plug the mouse into a different hub and see if it makes a difference.

So if the USB dongle is connected to one of the rear ports - connect the mouse to one of the front USB ports and see if it is still the same.

Although not using the IOGEAR dongle just now, I have opted to use a Belkin one as it works not only in the OS but also in Bios and Chimera, I did test the IOGEAR dongle and it worked fine in Mavericks and plugging in USB KB and Mouse had no effect on it.

It may be that the USB settings on your motherboard need to be adjusted - depending on what board you have.

The one qualifier I must add is that I tested several dongles and although Apple Magic Mouse and Apple Wireless Keyboard worked fin in Mavericks I was unable to get the Trackpad to work properly in Mavericks (worked OK in Mountain Lion). Apple have adjusted the way USB works in Mavericks so this may be the issue several people are facing.

I have the GA-z87x-ud3h motherboard, gtx EVGA 770 and I7-4770K. I will try the USB port change to see if that works.

Moving the IOGEAR bluetooth to the front USB port and the USB mouse to the back port seems to have fixed the issue. I have tested putting the system to sleep 3 times and the wireless keyboard reconnects after wake.

Glad to hear you have it working

For some reason the Apple Wireless keyboard is back to not connecting after wake. I only updated my Intel E1000 driver for a know issue with 6.0 Multibeast and added FakeSMC plugins for sensors.

Below is the console output after wake.

Any updates on this? Anyone ? I'm having similar issues with my bluetooth dongle. System appears stable now that I've turned the bluetooth off
