Black Screen with MacPro 6,1 or iMac 15 or iMac 17 System Definition

Thank you shiloh for your script!! I simply ran the script file, and days of frustration have finally come to an end.


I'm curious though: I chose MacPro6,1 just because it was the most recent model. Had I chosen to use, say, MacPro5,1 or some other iMac configuration, would all of this not have been an issue? Are there any resources you/someone else can recommend for me to better understand the various configurations?

Different hardware functions are affected by each system definition. Namely speedstep & graphics plus more. My thought is to choose the definition that matches your CPU series then correct whatever needs editing for the graphics or anything else. However, you may choose to pick a definition that requires less tinkering but might not match in power management. MacPro5,1 and iMac14 will not cause black screen.

Hi there!
I have 10.11.4 + nVidia Web driver on next configuration:
1) Asus Z170 Deluxe
2) Core i7 6700K
3) Asus Strix GTX980 DC2OC 4GD5
4) Apple Cinema Display 23" on DVI
5) Toshiba Led TV on HDMI.

I did try fixes from this thread and many others, but can't get HDMI working.

If I try booting without DVI then Toshiba TV goes slip when login screen should appear. The system is working though - I can connect from another mac and do something.

If I boot on win10 then it's ok - both displays are working.

I attached my dsdt, ssdt, config.plist and ioreg.

Not the files I need.

1) Restart to reach the clover GUI. Press the F4 key at the clover GUI. Now boot and mount the EFI partition. Go to EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/origin and copy the entire contents of the origin folder to the "k0ry" folder.

2) Open IORegistryExplorer.app and choose File > Save. Save the file in the k0ry folder.

Please try the SSDTs in Test 1 first. Then the SSDT in Test 2.
